12.00-14.00 "Everything you ever wanted to know about homotopy theory, but were afraid to ask (part 1)"
    Antonio Rieser, Conacyt-CIMAT.

This is the first lecture of a mini-course on the basics of homotopy theory and homotopical algebra. In this lecture, we will construct the homotopy groups of a topological space and discuss covering spaces and their relation to the fundamental group. Time permitting, we will then give the axioms for model categories and/or cofibration categories, and give several examples of homotopy groups in non-topological settings. No previous knowledge of algebraic topology is assumed.
